Hit the Hills @ Cynwyd, North Wales

mountain biking berwyn north walesEver been mountain biking in Berwyn mountains? You may never even of heard of them, they are situated in North East Wales between Shropshire and Snowdonia. They are immense! Lots of sweet natural trails with massive natural features make up this remote wilderness that very few people visit. Highlights include the massive Moel Sych at 827m which sits impressively overlooking the whole area and the highest waterfall in Wales: Pistyll Rhaeadr which taller than Niagra Falls! It’s a great place to for beginners to escape the crowds and experience some quieter trails or for the more adventurous to have an epic mountain day out.
With dramatic scenery, lush green valleys, rolling moorland and steep slate cliffs you are guaranteed a good time here. Take a look at a map of the area you’ll see that there are loads of bridleways, byways and white roads all crossing lots of contours and the Berwyn Range. You can easily put together a great route or check out our routes for some inspirations such as the classic Wayfarer or the short and sweet Llandrillo Circuit.

The quite village of Cynwyd hosts the venue for this weekend which is a converted watermill just of the A5 12 miles west of Llangollen. It has a great open plan lounge and dining area, good hot showers, plenty of parking spaces and a garden. The local friendly pub is about a 30 second walk from the venue too, what more do you need?
